WORLD BOOK DAY
The connection between 23 April and books was first made in 1923 by booksellers in Spain as a way to honour the author Miguel de Cervantes who died on that day.
This became a part of the celebrations of the Saint George's Day (also 23 April) in Catalonia, where it has been traditional since the medieval era for men to give roses to their lovers and since 1925 for the woman to give a book in exchange.
In 1995, UNESCO decided that the World Book and Copyright Day would be celebrated on this date because of the Catalonian festival and because the date is also the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare, the death of Miguel de Cervantes, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and Josep Pla, the birth of Maurice Druon, Vladimir Nabokov, Manuel Mejía Vallejo and Halldór Laxness.
April 23rd is World Book Day in many countries.

Alumnado de 3º y 4º (Semana del 20-24 de abril)
El martes de 21 abril a las 10.30 de la mañana nos vemos las caras en Cisco Web Meeting.
Esta semana (20 al 24 de abril) vamos a hacer un repaso de la Unidad 2 My school day.
Para ellos usaremos el Class book digital del "Blinklearning" y los que no puedan usarán el libro de clase. La semana siguiente empezaremos algo nuevo que ya les contaré.

Ademas de las rutinas: greetings, days of the week, months, weather.
Y les propongo un reto:
Grabarte un vídeo haciendo las rutinas que hacíamos en clase. Tú serás el/la profe y como alumnos/as puedes usar a tus peluches, a tu familia o incluso a tus mascotas. Tal y como hacíamos en clase tienes que decir:
- Greetings (saludos)
- Days of the week (días de la semana)
- Months (meses)
- Seasons (estaciones)
- Weather (tiempo atmosférico)
- Alphabet (abecedario)
Y pueden añadir algo más si quieren. Me lo envían a mi correo: aprendoidiomascolegiolasvegas@gmail.com y el que quiera, en el mismo correo, me da permiso para colgarlo en el blog. Solamente colgaré los que ustedes quieran. Los demás, los veré y puntuaré.
